IFC Final

Unfortunately the footballers were unable to make it two promotions in a row after being beaten by Heston Gaels in a close and tense encounter last Sunday. Despite playing poorly in the first half they only trailed by 5 points (having played against the breeze) thanks to a Brian McVeigh goal. The second half saw the Cus fight back and when they levelled, it looked like there would only be one winner but Heston’s Padraig McGoldrick scored a point that was to prove to be the winner. Agonisingly Robbie Croft had a chance to equalise but his effort sailed inches wide and the final whistle went. The club would like to congratulate Heston on their victory and wish them all the best in the All-Britain play off!

Hurling League

Cus 1.07 Fr.Murphys 1.13- the hurlers lost against the same opposition as in their championship semi-final. Despite missing several regulars they put in a spirited performance.

Semi-Final Weekend

It was a case of mixed fortunes at the weekend when both our footballers and hurlers had championship semi-finals. The hurlers lost 1.10 to 2.12 to championship favourites Fr.Murphys. On Sunday the footballers had a convincing victory over Garryowen by 6.09 to 1.08 and now go forward to meet Heston in the final on 29th September.

This weeks draw has seen lots of players hit 3 numbers, but the leader is the winner of the last game, Declan O’Brien who has just 31 and 33 left to win again! Next weeks jackpot is £222. Apologies to Mary A Murphy, Katie Smyth and Mikie Smyth who joined the lotto last week but we forgot to add their numbers to the game.

The club would like to wish Sean Kelly and the rest of the London panel all the best this weekend as they take on Sligo in the Connacht championship in Ruislip. Also we congratulate former London and Cus player Cripy Eastwood who was a goal scorer as Cookstown recorded a big win in the ACL in Tyrone.
