Club Notes 20th November

Result

The footballers lost the Sean Shield Cup final on Saturday by 1.12 to 2.10 against Harlsden Harps. Despite missing 8/9 regulars this was a game that we could have still won. We congratulate Harlsden and wish all our footballers a restful off-season.

 

Fixtures

The hurlers play their final game of the season this Sunday at 1pm in Goodmayes against TMC in the Ronan cup final. Players to meet at 12pm.

 

Bereavement

The club would like to pass on our regards to former players Brian and Gary O’ Donnell on the death of their mother Ellen O’ Donnell. A mass in her memory will be held this Sunday 24th November at 4 o’ clock in the English Martyrs Church, 142 Rodney Rd., Walworth SE17 1RA.

 

Golf and Presentation Night

The presentation evening takes place on Saturday November 30th in ‘The Windsor Hall’, 888 Old Kent Road. Tickets are £5 and available from all players. Tickets are also available on the night. More information to follow.

 

Raffle tickets for the clubs Christmas draw are also on sale at just £2 a ticket, or a book of 6 for £10. All players have tickets so see your relevant person for your tickets. Top prize is a 40″ tele, second prize is a tablet device and third prize is a kindle e-reader. Many spot prizes are also available on the night.

 

Club lotto

Peter Phelan and Aidan Power of them need just 27 to share the jackpot. Mikie Smyth was the big mover this weekend as he joins the other 2 on 1 number. Just number 9 is required for the jackpot. The jackpot next weekend is £380, best of luck to all involved.

Club Notes 11th November

Fixtures and Training

The footballers play their final game of the season this Saturday at 2.30pm in Goodmayes against Harlsden Harps in the Sean Shield Cup final. Players to meet at 1.30pm. The final training session of the year will be on Thursday night at 7.30pm. All players are expected to attend.

Hurling training continues on Tuesday night. A big push is required to try and finish the season on a high.

 

Race night

The club held a successful race night on Saturday in ‘The Old Tiger’s Head’ in Lee. There was a great turn out and the highlight was the final auction with auctioneer Eoin Regan keeping the crowd on their toes. The club would like to thank Fiachra, Padraig and John for taking charge on the night, for all those who sponsored a race or a horse and James from the pub for hosting us.

Club Notes 1st November

Training

Training continues on Tuesday nights for hurlers and Thursday night for footballers. With only one game left for each team an exerted effort is required to finish the season on a real high in both codes. Both of these games are cup finals with the footballers most likely to be playing on Saturday 9th November.

 

Fundraising

We are running a race night on Saturday 9th November in The Old Tigers Head, Lee, SE London. There are a limited number of horses remaining and can be sponsored by contacting Padraig Biggane or a club member.

We are also hosting a golf day on Saturday November 30th. This will be followed by our presentation night in The Windsor Hall, New Cross Gate. Tickets for the golf day costs £40 and this includes your breakfast. If your only attending the presentation night tickets cost £5. We will also be having our Christmas draw that night with excellent prizes to be won. Tickets can be bought from any player or club member.

 

Club Lotto

There was no winner of the lotto this week. Several people are on two numbers with a Jackpot of £152 for next week. Please ensure you stay up to date with payments.
