In the first round of Division 1 Hurling action from Ruislip in London on Sunday, last year’s county finalists, Robert Emmetts edged out rivals Kilburn Gaels by 3-7 (16) to 1-12 (15). Kilburn had the majority of the play in the seond half but lack of accuracy in front of the posts let them down badly. Meanwhile, this week brought something of a reality check for intermediate squad Bros Pearse, who after the highs of winning the Ronan Cup last weekend, came crashing back to earth a week later when senior team Fr Murphy’s showed them no mercy.
Here to tell us all about both games and London footballers chances against Roscommon on Sunday is London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.

Fresh from their famous, first ever London GAA Championship victory this summer, Kilburn Gaels continued their remarkable run of success when overcoming Robert Emmetts in last Sunday’s London Div 1 Senior Hurling title clash at Ruislip.
Played in wet and difficult conditions, ‘Emmetts had the better start and led by two points at the interval. With both defences on top, scores were at a premium, but the game turned in favour of Kilburn when they grabbed two second half goals and managed to hold on to win by a goal on a scoreline of 3-07 (16) to 2-07 (13).
Here to give us a report on the game is London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.

Last Sunday in Ruislip turned out to be a historic day for Kilburn Gaels as they won their first ever London senior hurling championship title. The hurling decider brought together a novel pairing in that Kilburn and their opponents Sean Treacys, had never met in a London hurling final. The game from a neutrals perspective turned out to be a disappointment as once Kilburn crashed home two early goals they never looked like losing and coasted home for a 3-11 (20) to 0-07 victory. The Intermediate final on the other hand, between London’s oldest hurling club and favourites, Bros Pearse and newest club, Michael Cusacks , was a lot more competitive. ‘Cusacks lead by 0-2 at the break but two second half goals by Bros Pearse edged them in front and they held on for dear life at the end to win by a goal, on a scoreline of 3-08 (17) to 2-08 (14). Here once more to tell us all about the action is Wexfordman and London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.
