Tir Chonaill Gaels took this year’s London Div 1 Senior Football League title when scoring a five point win over St Kiernans on Saturday in Greenford. The Gaels, who had won this competition and the London championship last year, would have been favourites going into the game, however in a close affair they held a slender one point lead at the break in a half which had seen St Kiernans reduced to 14 men. Things evened out in the second half when Tir Chonaill had one of theirs sent to the line but despite this they went on to dominate the last quarter to run out 0-10 to 0-05 victors.
In the Ryan Cup Hurling Final at the same venue on Sunday, all conquering Kilburn Gaels pulled off a treble when a fitter side proved too much for St Gabriels by 2-12 (18) to 1-09 (12). Here to tell us about those games is London GAA Chairman, Tommy Harrell.

Last year’s Junior Championship winners St Josephs, made a statmement of intent for this year as last weekend they took home the intermediate Sean Shields Cup with a three point win over the more fancied Moindearg. It was a close affair all through but a late push by ‘Josephs secured a deserved victory. London PRO, Declan Flanagan tells us about the game and also previews the two big matches this weekend when the London hurlers take on Roscommon in the Nicky Rackard semi final while the footballers are back in action against Wexford in Rd 1 of the All Ireland Qualfiers on Sunday in Ruislip.
