Best of Luck to Peter Phelan
November 25, 2016
CuChulainns would like to wish Peter Phelan the best of luck as this week he leaves London to head off to Oz (via Waterford)! Since joining the club Peter has won 9 trophies in hurling and football and helped bring this great club back to Senior Hurling where we belong. Peter won CuChulainns Hurling player of the year in 2014 (believes he was robbed every other year) and captained us the same year to 4 trophies. He has also been a key forward for London Senior hurling team for the past few years. Peter will be sorely missed by all not only for his hurling ability but for the great laugh and the great friend he has been to many for the past 5 years.
Peter will also always be remembered for his extreme modesty and the fact he never missed a training. It was with great luck that Christy O'Shea and Joe Cashman found him whilst having a pint with the great Waterford dual player John Hurney in the Joiners in Lewisham one Sunday. Unfortunately Hurney moved on and we were left with Petes. We still miss Hurney. There is a lot of speculation that Peter will miss us so much he will be back by February. Others dont agree with this and say he will hold out until March!
